United Hebrew President & CEO Rita Mabli Honored With Top Executive Award

Another feather in her cap! Our warmest congratulations to Rita Mabli, who will be honored with the 2021 C-Suite Award on October 14. Presented by the Westchester & Fairfield County Business Journals, the awards honor top executives who create innovative ideas that propel progress and success in their respective organizations.

Ms. Mabli has won many awards, deservedly so. And we never tire of singing her praises because she has been an integral part of the fabric of United Hebrew of New Rochelle for more than 40 years. As President & CEO, Ms. Mabli has made significant contributions to healthcare, eldercare, and to the lives of United Hebrew’s residents, their families, and staff. She has worked tirelessly to ensure that our campus is a vibrant center of comprehensive care that support seniors through all the stages of aging, from those who live independently to those with advanced healthcare needs—and everyone in between.

“It’s an honor to receive this award from Westchester County’s leading business publication, and to be recognized among such esteemed colleagues,” she says. “I share this recognition with my team, who help me  ensure that we provide the best possible care to the seniors in our care.”

Exemplary leadership

Under Ms. Mabli’s leadership, United Hebrew has been consistently recognized for excellence in eldercare. Its skilled nursing facility has been named among the “Best Nursing Homes” in the nation by Newsweek and U.S. News and World Report. Its short-term rehabilitation center has earned the USNWR “High Performing” rating, the highest possible. United Hebrew’s Willow Towers Assisted Living and Willow Gardens Memory Care have also garnered national quality awards from the American Healthcare Association/National Center for Assisted Living. These honors represent the top-notch care given to each and every resident on campus.

Importantly, Ms. Mabli has made it her mission to bring out the best in her entire staff, which often cite the top-down culture of kindness and respect she has created as a reason they are so committed to their work. She recognizes that many employees are caregivers both at work and home, and strives to create a supportive work environment that balances the needs of families with the needs of the organization.  As a result, United Hebrew has one of the lowest staff turnover rates in New York State, providing a consistency of care to residents that is unparalleled.

Her exemplary leadership also led to the organization’s successful navigation of the COVID-19 pandemic. Starting on March 6, 2020, when our nursing home first closed for visitation — ahead of the New York State mandate — Ms. Mabli, undeterred, reported to work for 90 straight days. She went above and beyond to ensure the health, safety, and well-being for her residents and staff. Her dedication earned her a Westchester Magazine Healthcare Hero Award in 2021 —one of several awards and honors she has received throughout her career.

Thanks to Rita Mabli, United Hebrew has entered its second century, poised to add services and programs to meet the ever-evolving needs of the elderly, and to do so in a compassionate environment where people want to work. This, in turn, creates a nurturing environment where people want to live and turn to in times of need.

The C-Suite Awards will be broadcast online on Thursday, October 14. Register for the event here.
