We’re so proud to announce that our skilled nursing home was recognized as one of the best in the nation by the Women’s Choice Award®. What makes this designation so significant is that United Hebrew has been selected as one of the top 825 extended care facilities out of over 15,000 across the country. We’re also one of just 25 extended care facilities in New York State to receive this recognition, and the only facility in Southern Westchester.
We credit this recognition to our talented staff, who are meeting the needs and health preferences of women and their loved ones. By carrying the Women’s Choice Award seal, United Hebrew is recognized as a facility that women would highly recommend for their loved one’s long-term care, rehabilitation, and skilled nursing needs.
That’s a comfort to many women, as choosing a nursing home for a loved one can be a difficult and emotional decision.
The majority of people turning age 65 (70 percent) can expect to use some form of long-term care during their lives, according to the U.S. Department of Health & Human Services. The Women’s Choice Award helps individuals and families make educated decisions about where to find the best care by evaluating results from the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) five-star rating system. The methodology for the award is unique in that it also assesses primary research about women’s healthcare preferences.
America’s Best for Extended Care have received four or five star ratings in the following four categories and must have a combined total of at least 18 stars to be chosen. The CMS rating categories are:
- General staffing
- Registered nurse staffing
- Quality rating
- Inspection survey rating
